CWHI Delivers All 32 XXL Monopiles for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm On Time, On Budget

CWHI is pleased to announce the successful completion of the full delivery of thirty-two (32) XXL monopiles to the Port of Leith for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm. All monopiles have been delivered on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with the project's stringent quality and safety requirements.

This milestone marks the successful conclusion of a complex, multi-month fabrication and delivery programme, demonstrating CWHI's strong project execution capabilities and reliable performance across manufacturing, marine logistics, and port operations.

The final eight (8) XXL monopiles were shipped from CWHI's Qinzhou yard in December 2025 aboard the COSCO vessel “XIANG TAIKOU” and have now safely arrived and been successfully offloaded at the Port of Leith. Their arrival completes the full scope of supply for the Inch Cape project as planned.

Engineered and manufactured to withstand demanding offshore installation conditions, each monopile measures up to 11.5 metres in diameter, extends up to 103 metres in length, and weighs up to 2,300 tonnes. These exceptional dimensions highlight the scale and technical complexity of the project, as well as CWHI's proven capability to consistently deliver large-diameter, heavy-lift offshore foundation structures to exacting quality standards.

“Finalising all monopile deliveries for Inch Cape is a significant achievement for our team,” said Dale Young, Chief Development Officer of CWHI. “It reflects the dedication of our Qinzhou yard teams, the reliability of our partners, and our shared focus on schedule certainty, quality, and safe execution in support of Scotland's offshore wind ambitions.”

Located off the Angus coast, the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm will play an important role in strengthening the UK's renewable energy capacity and accelerating the transition to low-carbon power. CWHI extends its sincere appreciation to the Inch Cape project team, the Port of Leith authorities, and all partners whose close collaboration enabled the successful and timely completion of this delivery programme.

CWHI is proud to contribute to infrastructure supporting national decarbonisation goals and reinforcing Scotland's position as a global leader in offshore wind development.
