CWHI Dispatches First 15 Transition Pieces for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm Project

CWHI is proud to announce the on-time departure of the first 15 Transition Pieces (TPs) for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, departed aboard the COSCO vessel “HUA SHENG LONG”, marking a major project milestone and establishing CWHI as the first supplier from China to deliver fully commissioned Transition Pieces.

Each Transition Piece embodies precision engineering and world-class quality standards. Each stands up to 28 metres tall, with an 8.3-metre outer diameter and a weight of approximately 600 MT—designed for durability, performance, and long-term offshore reliability.

Delivering these structures is no simple task. It requires advanced facilities, skilled craftsmanship, and the relentless efforts of our teams at CWHI's yards. Today's shipment reflects the collective strength and dedication of everyone involved. This milestone marks CWHI's progress toward delivering a total of 30 Transition Pieces and 32 Monopiles for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm project, owned jointly by ESB and Red Rock Renewables. Inch Cape will have an installed capacity of 1.1GW and once complete will generate enough clean electricity to power more than half the homes in Scotland, playing a key role in supporting the UK's net zero ambitions.

“The successful dispatch of the first 15 Transition Pieces reflects the strength of our yards’ collaboration and the dedication of our teams,” said Dale Young, Chief Development Officer of CWHI. “This milestone signifies not only engineering excellence, but also our shared mission to support the UK's clean energy transition.”

CWHI is proud to contribute to a project that will play a crucial role in delivering sustainable, low-carbon power to the UK. The departure of these Transition Pieces marks an important step forward in bringing clean, renewable energy to communities and advancing our shared net-zero ambitions.

As an industry leader in offshore wind foundation manufacturing, CWHI remains committed to delivering high-quality, on-schedule solutions—moving Ahead for Energy.
